2. Printing Instructions – canvas bags

Sublimation Printing Method

Recommended for full-colour photographs, gradients and detailed artwork on the detachable white polyester panel.

  1. Remove the white panel from the bag before pressing.
  2. Prepare the artwork at 24 × 35.5 cm or slightly larger if full-bleed coverage is required.
  3. Mirror the artwork before printing it onto sublimation paper.
  4. Pre-press the panel for approximately 3–5 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.
  5. Position the printed transfer face-down and secure it with heat-resistant tape.
  6. Place clean protective paper above and below the panel.
  7. Press at approximately 190–200°C for 45–60 seconds using medium pressure.
  8. Remove the transfer paper carefully and allow the panel to cool flat.
  9. Reattach the panel only after it has cooled completely.

Always perform a test press first. Exact settings can vary according to the sublimation ink, paper, heat press and polyester coating. Use fresh protective paper to prevent ink transfer and ghosting.

Heat-Transfer Vinyl Method

Suitable for names, numbers, logos, text and simple solid-colour graphics.

  1. Remove the polyester panel from the bag.
  2. Cut the design from polyester-compatible HTV and mirror it before cutting.
  3. Weed away the excess vinyl.
  4. Pre-press the panel for approximately 2–3 seconds.
  5. Position the design and cover it with a protective sheet.
  6. Apply the vinyl using the temperature, time and pressure specified by its manufacturer.
  7. A typical starting range for polyester-safe HTV is 140–155°C for 10–15 seconds with light-to-medium pressure.
  8. Peel the carrier according to the vinyl manufacturer’s hot-, warm- or cold-peel instructions.
  9. Allow the panel to cool before reattaching it to the bag.
